NEXT STEP 01
Start with the information that helps us act
Call 020 8064 3106 with your site address, contact number and whether you need chilled or frozen storage. Explain when the replacement is needed, the goods involved and the approximate volume. If you know the size of the room or equipment being replaced, include it.
We will check equipment availability and the practical installation options. Delivery timing depends on stock, location, team availability and site readiness; same-day delivery and round-the-clock attendance are not guaranteed. If you cannot reach us, send an enquiry with the same details and your required timescale.
NEXT STEP 02
Check where the temporary room can go
Identify a potential position near the operation, without blocking fire exits, vehicle routes or necessary drainage. Measure the space and photograph the complete route from unloading to the proposed room location. Include gates, steps, corridors, corners and overhead restrictions.
A modular room is assembled from panels rather than delivered as one complete unit. This can provide options on sites with restricted access, subject to assessment. Send ground photographs too: we can consider suitable levelling and support where the surface is sloped or uneven.
NEXT STEP 03
Confirm power and stock-transfer arrangements
Photograph or describe the available electrical supply and tell us where it is relative to the proposed room. The team needs to confirm that it is suitable for the selected equipment. Include a site contact who can help with access and power arrangements during installation.
Continue following your existing stock-control and food-safety procedures while replacement storage is arranged. Hiring a room does not establish whether affected stock is safe. Plan the transfer with the responsible person on site and allow the installed room to reach the agreed operating temperature before loading.
NEXT STEP 04
Plan beyond the first day
Give us your best estimate of the hire duration, even if the repair or replacement date is uncertain. Consider the next delivery as well as the stock already on site, and ask about racking or a larger door if these will make handling easier.
If repairs take longer than expected, contact us to discuss an extension. Before collection, agree a transfer plan back into the permanent equipment and make sure the hired room can be emptied and accessed. Clear communication helps avoid moving stock more often than necessary.

Practical installation experience
Our London catering project shows the care involved in placing a 3.6 m room around drainage, residents and cable routes. It is an installation example, not a promised emergency response time.

GOOD TO KNOW
Your emergency hire questions
Can you guarantee same-day emergency delivery?
No. Contact us to check the current position. Equipment, location, team availability and site readiness determine what can be offered, and timing must be agreed with VCS.
Do I need to complete a floor plan before calling?
No. For an urgent requirement, call with your location, storage need and access information. The designer is available if it helps, but you do not need a finished layout before contacting us.
Can you provide temporary frozen storage after a breakdown?
We supply both fridge and freezer rooms. Tell us the required storage conditions and quantities so the team can assess a suitable room and current availability.
What if I do not know when my equipment will be repaired?
Provide your best estimate when enquiring. Keep the team updated and contact us to check any extension; additional hire remains subject to agreement and availability.
