YOUR REQUIREMENTS 01
Frozen capacity when your operation needs it
A hired walk-in freezer can support event catering, seasonal stock, a kitchen refurbishment or replacement of existing equipment. Start with what needs storing, how it arrives and how often your team will access it. These details help us assess a useful capacity rather than simply filling the largest available footprint.
Explain whether goods arrive already frozen and the conditions they need. Do not assume a storage freezer is a blast freezer or a substitute for a specialist freezing process. If you need to freeze products rather than hold frozen stock, discuss that requirement with the team before booking.
YOUR REQUIREMENTS 02
Plan racking, doors and stock movements
Consider how boxes, trays and trolleys will move through the doorway and around the room. Racking is optional and can make smaller items easier to organise, but the layout must still leave a workable aisle and clear routes for circulating air.
For pallet handling or bulky stock, tell us the dimensions and equipment you use. We can assess an appropriate door arrangement and any access accessories with the room specification. Choose freezer mode in the designer to explore a layout, then include your handling requirements in the enquiry.
YOUR REQUIREMENTS 03
Prepare the site and electrical supply
VCS builds modular rooms on site, allowing us to assess positions that may be difficult for a complete unit to reach. We need the room footprint, access route, available height, ground condition and space around the refrigeration equipment. Include photographs of any slope, restricted opening or drainage that must remain clear.
The selected freezer equipment determines the required electrical supply. Ask us to confirm the specification before arranging power; do not assume the supply for an existing fridge will suit the proposed freezer. Agree the installation window and allow time for the room to reach its operating temperature before transferring stock.
YOUR REQUIREMENTS 04
Keep the hired freezer working around your team
Organise stock so frequently needed items are easy to reach and doors do not need to stay open while you search. Leave refrigeration airflow clear and use the room in line with the handover guidance and your existing monitoring procedures. Discuss strip curtains and racking when planning the room.
If you need chilled and frozen stock at the same time, plan separate rooms. We can review a multi-room requirement with different sizes or dates in the existing project designer. If your collection date may change, contact us to check an extension rather than assuming continued availability.

GOOD TO KNOW
Your freezer hire questions
Can I hire a fridge and freezer together?
Yes. Add separate rooms to your project and tell us the dates, sizes and storage requirements for each. Each room is assessed and confirmed with the team.
What temperature will the hired freezer operate at?
Tell us the storage conditions your goods require. We will confirm an appropriate equipment specification and operating setting for the agreed use.
Is freezer hire suitable for freezing fresh products?
The intended service is frozen storage. If you need to freeze or rapidly chill products, explain the process, product and quantities so suitability can be assessed; do not assume a storage room provides blast-freezing performance.
Can a freezer be installed on uneven ground?
We assess the proposed site. Where suitable, timber packing can be used to level and support the room throughout. Send photos of slopes, surface conditions and drainage before booking.
